Ce film est le résultat de deux années de travail : de février 1976 à mars 1978. Il tente d'esquisser une évolution possible des événements : démembrement du Liban, liquidation du Mouvement palestinien, nouveau rapport de forces au Moyen-Orient sous l'égide américaine. Ce film n'est pas achevé, puisqu'il s'est donné pour but d'accompagner la réalité mouvante d'un pays et les souffrances d'un peuple.
This film is the result of two years of work, from February 1976 to March 1978. It attempts to draft a timeline of events: the dismemberment of Lebanon, the liquidation of the Palestinian movement, the new balance of powers in the Middle East under US rule. This film is not finished, as it endeavoured to accompany the ever evolving reality of a country, and the suffering of a people.
